Career Fire Fighter Diver drowns wearing outdated unsafe equipment
It is 2009...when I read reports like this it makes me think that there is a lot more work that needs to be done to get the right equipment to the right people (trained and QUALIFIED of course!)

Vacation Turns Deadly After Car Flips Into Pond

Reported by Emily Lampa
ORLANDO -- A deadly accident devastates a Jacksonville family on vacation in Orlando.
Dana King was killed and her fiancé and his kids were hospitalized when the car they were driving flipped over into a retention pond.
It happened Saturday afternoon behind a Benihana restaurant on the 12000 block of Floridays Resort Drive.
The vehicle crashed through a fence and into a retention pond between the resort and the restaurant. Because the retention pond had a steep embankment, the car flipped over.
The father, Brandon Nesmith, and his 14-year-old daughter, Ariel King, were able to get out of the car.
But bystanders and emergency personnel had to jump into the water to help get the 33-year-old's two other daughters, Taylor and Brealyn, out.
While Nesmith and his children were transported to area hospitals, the Orange County Dive team continued to search for the 35-year-old woman.
By 6 p.m., they found her body still in the vehicle.
"This is time of year where people are supposed to be vacationing, enjoying themselves, going to parades, the last thing we want obviously is a family-- something tragic like this to happen," said Jorge Delahoz, Florida Highway Patrol.
Nesmith's two younger daughters are still in critical condition. Thirteen-year-old Taylor is now at Dr. P. Phillips. Three-year-old Brealyn has been transferred to Arnold Palmer for treatment.
